On October 1, 2018, we celebrated Confluence Fort Collins Groundbreaking at an intimate ceremony for our new Fort Collins apartments. Accomplished architects, diligent designers, dedicated real estate agents, excited new homeowners, and supportive community members all joined together at Ginger and Baker to celebrate this much anticipated day.
Trae Rigby of Saunders Heath Commercial Development and Construction had a few words to say during the ceremony in regards to the project thus far and the impact it will have on our community. He noted that of 26 available residential units, half have already pre-sold due to Confluence Fort Collins’ great location within our lovely city, as well as the meticulous design done by [au]workshop. According to Rigby, Saunders Heath is absolutely thrilled to be able to “take [au]workshop’s thoughtful design and turn it into a reality, create a community, and deliver a new project to homeowners and the City of Fort Collins.”

Randy Shortridge of [au]workshop also spoke during the groundbreaking ceremony about the history of the location and its symbolism. The old historical fort was established in a nearby spot in 1864 and was built after a flood at Camp Collins near LaPorte. Randy reiterated that this place has been a confluence forever, just like the million other confluences in Fort Collins. “And now our little project is helping to create a confluence at the center of the River District,” said Shortridge. Simply put, Confluence Fort Collins will bring downtown and the Poudre River together more so than ever before.
Two other guest speakers spoke during the ceremony – Matt Robenalt of the Downtown Development Authority and Mayor Wade Troxell.
